Quality Bookkeeping Cleanup and a time to walk the rows

The invoice that said finished is usually already in the folder. Bring the row that failed. If you do not know which row, bring the invoice that said finished.

A cancelled bank check with a paid stamp and the amount written in words.
What the meeting is for

You will look at one file. The first question is whether a row is actually closed. The second is whether October can still use that answer. We keep the filed return in the stack so the two questions do not get split across seasons.

Bring the statement date if you have it. Bring the invoice if that is all you have. Come without a prepared speech. The account names can stay inside the file until we open it together. Naming the open check in ordinary words is enough.

Those minutes leave both sides free, and no engagement begins inside them. You will hear the truth of the file, and if the rows would be premature we say that outright. The file stays put until both sides have signed a letter that spells out scope and fee.

If you already know the bank row failed, say that at the start and we will not spend the call on the later rows. They can wait, the way they wait on the failed list.

What to have nearby

The operating statement for the date the cleanup used. Any holding account that still shows a balance. The filed return if there is one, or a note that it is not filed yet. A short list of amounts you took for yourself, if you know them.

If none of that is in the room, come anyway and we will say which piece is missing. Guessing a balance on the call is worse than naming the gap.

A sales tax filing can be mentioned. Leave the rate off. We will not compute one from memory on a video call.

After a pass, the same calendar is how the tenth gets set. Read what a pass lets you choose if you think the rows may already be closed.

Choose a time

The call looks at one file and five checks. You will be talking to the Steven Palmieri practice. The phone in the footer reaches the same person if a calendar is the wrong tool today.

Name the check you want to start with. Bank, holding account, return, owner amounts, closing date, or not sure.

Or send the row ahead of the call
