Quality Bookkeeping Cleanup after the rows have passed

A pass is a date you can point to, after a cleanup that earned the word finished. Pay the rest, keep the next month closed by the tenth, or stop. All three are valid.

Set the next month

Three ends, and none of them is a trophy

Pay the remainder if the five rows are actually closed. Or set the tenth and keep the next month shut on a day you can expect. Or stop. Stopping after a pass is still a pass, and it does not rewind the rows.

The last weeks of a year take longer than the first, and December is when that shows up in the file. On a set of books, those last weeks are the close we will not skip.

No price sits on this page. The month that stays closed is the ongoing choice, not an hourly reread of a list that already passed. We will not reopen a passed list just to look busy.

If the first row had stayed open, this page would be the wrong one. The failed list is the page for that invoice.

What the tenth is for

The tenth is a day you can put on a calendar because the prior month already matched. It is not a wish. If a deposit is still loose, we do not schedule the tenth and hope.

Statements for that month come from the closed books. A balance sheet, when you want one, is the balance sheet of that closed month. We do not draft it from a month that is still receiving entries.

Sales tax the state already holds can be faced from the same file once the rows have passed. No sales tax percentage is printed in this article. Payroll setup can share that month, and the company you pick runs payday.

October still matters after a pass. A closed month is what lets the year question be a real question, instead of a guess over open rows.

If you want to stop

Stopping is a complete choice. You keep the passed rows, you pay only what the scope named, and you can come back when the next year asks for the same checks.

A time on the calendar is how we set the tenth if you want it. A note on the form is enough if you only want to say the list passed.

Pay, the tenth, or stop. Name one, and say the month the rows belong to.
